If you know me, you know what i think of Alex Jones. He’s such an a-hole he can actually be very funny. If you know anybody who prays at the altar of Alex Jones, simply show them this video and ask them to explain their allegiance to this nitwit.
But there is a downside to this video – It’s 5 hours long (Yes! 5 hours!)!!!! Naturally i don’t expect anybody to watch the entire video, but i’ll post it here anyway for laughs or if you just need a sanity check by watching a true paranoid clown.
People actually pay good money to watch, listen and believe what this guy says. Now THAT’S entertainment!

Alex Jones says House Bill Would Criminalize Satire of TSA ….
Starting with the bill in question (H.R. 3011) (http://tinyurl.com/5v67pwd), go to the section in question (295).
The very first sentence of the section in question (section 295) reads: “Section 709 of title 18, United States Code, is amended (as follows) …”.
So, in order to understand the proposed legislative language that follows, in context, we must track down Section 709 of title 18, United States Code.
The very first sentence of Section 709 of title 18, United States Code (http://tinyurl.com/3rvlbec) reads: “Whoever, except as permitted by the laws of the United States, uses the words …”.
The operative words here, are “… EXCEPT AS PERMITTED BY THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES …”.
In other words, everything that follows will apply unless the Laws of the United States carve out and exception and permit otherwise.
What Laws of the United States might carve out exceptions?
Let’s start with a previous section (701) of the same title (18), (Official badges, identification cards, other insignia) (http://tinyurl.com/3q5yprw). Section 701 of title 18, United States Code is “intended to protect the public against the use of a recognizable assertion of authority with intent to deceive.” United States v. Goeltz, 513 F.2d 193 (1975). See: F.B.I. Challenges Wikipedia Over Use of Its Seal – NYTimes.com (http://tinyurl.com/22ojgkn). In a nutshell, title 18 United States Code (of which the proposed language would fall) is to prevent the impersonation of a government official or entity. This is no different than laws preventing citizens from impersonation a police officer. Nothing in this title (18) infringes on the right to satirize or poke fun.
Where is satire and poking fun still “permitted by the Laws of the United States”? Where else is the language of H.R. 3011 preempted by U.S. Law?
